Editorial Process

At Advances in Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, we strive to maintain a transparent, rigorous, and efficient editorial process that ensures the integrity and quality of the research we publish. Below is an overview of the steps involved in our editorial process:

1. Submission of Manuscripts

Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts through our online submission system. Upon submission, authors will receive a confirmation email indicating that their manuscript has been received.

2. Initial Evaluation

Once a manuscript is submitted, it undergoes an initial evaluation by the editorial team. This step assesses the manuscript’s compliance with our journal’s scope, formatting guidelines, and overall quality. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to authors without further review.

3. Peer Review Process

Manuscripts that pass the initial evaluation are sent for peer review. We follow a double-blind peer review process, meaning that both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other. This process typically involves:

Selection of Reviewers: The editorial team identifies and invites experts in the relevant field to evaluate the manuscript.

Review Duration: Reviewers are given a timeframe to provide their feedback, typically within 2–4 weeks.

Evaluation Criteria: Reviewers assess the manuscript based on its originality, methodology, relevance, clarity, and contribution to the field.

4. Reviewer Feedback

After the review period, the reviewers submit their recommendations to the editorial team. Based on their feedback, one of the following decisions will be made:

Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication with no or minor revisions.

Revise and Resubmit: Authors are invited to make revisions based on the reviewers' comments and resubmit the manuscript for further evaluation.

Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal’s standards for publication.

5. Author Revisions

If revisions are requested, authors will receive detailed feedback from the reviewers. They are expected to address the comments and resubmit their revised manuscript within the specified timeframe.

6. Final Decision

The revised manuscript is re-evaluated, either by the same reviewers or by new ones, depending on the nature of the revisions. The editorial team will then make a final decision regarding publication.

7. Copyediting and Proofreading

Once accepted, the manuscript undergoes professional copyediting to ensure clarity, coherence, and adherence to our style guidelines. Authors will receive proofs for review, allowing them to make any necessary corrections before final publication.

8. Publication

After final approval, the article is published online and becomes available for the global community to access.

9. Post-Publication

Authors are encouraged to promote their published work and engage with readers. We welcome feedback and discussions regarding the research to foster a collaborative academic community
