ISJ Peer Review Policy

Peer review within the context of International Scholars Journals, is the process of subjecting an author's work to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field, before a paper describing this work is published in any of our journals. It is the work done during the screening of submitted manuscripts. This process encourages authors to meet the accepted standards of their discipline and prevents the dissemination of irrelevant findings, unwarranted claims, unacceptable interpretations, and personal views.

At ISJ, we  hold this process very seriously because we strongly believe that publications that have not undergone peer review are likely to be regarded with suspicion by researchers and scientists. At the end of the process, the work may be accepted, considered acceptable with revisions, or rejected. Our peer review process requires a community of experts in a given (and often narrowly defined) field, who are qualified and able to perform impartial review.

Purpose: International Scholars Journals is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic publishing. Peer review is an essential part of this commitment, ensuring the quality and integrity of the research we publish.

Types of Peer Review: We employ a double-blind peer review process, where the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed from each other. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and are required to provide objective and constructive feedback on the manuscript.

Editorial Control: The Editor-in-Chief has the ultimate responsibility for the selection of reviewers and the decision to accept or reject a manuscript. However, the input of the reviewers is a critical part of the decision-making process.

Reviewer Selection: Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, academic qualifications, and previous experience in the field relevant to the manuscript under consideration. We encourage diversity in our pool of reviewers to ensure a comprehensive and fair assessment of the research.

Reviewer Responsibilities: Reviewers are expected to conduct the review process with the utmost professionalism, objectivity, and confidentiality. They should provide detailed, constructive, and unbiased feedback to the authors, which will assist them in improving the quality of their work.

Timeliness: Reviewers are requested to complete their reviews within the stipulated time frame provided by the editorial office. Prompt and timely reviews are crucial to the efficient publication process.

Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect their ability to provide an unbiased review. If a conflict of interest is identified, the reviewer will be replaced with an alternate reviewer.

Author Responses: Authors are given the opportunity to respond to the reviewers' comments and make revisions to their manuscript based on the feedback received. The revised manuscript may be subject to further review before a final decision is made.

Confidentiality: All parties involved in the peer review process, including authors, reviewers, and editorial staff, must uphold strict confidentiality regarding the content of the manuscripts under review.

Feedback and Mentorship: International Scholars Journals is committed to providing feedback to reviewers to enhance their skills and knowledge in the peer review process. We also encourage mentorship and guidance to early career researchers who engage in the review process.

We hope this policy provides a clear understanding of our commitment to maintaining the integrity and quality of the scholarly work published by International Scholars Journals.
