Open Access Policy
International Journal of Law and Legal Studies is committed to fostering the free exchange of knowledge and ideas within the global legal community. In line with our mission to support equitable access to research and scholarship, we adhere to an Open Access publishing model that ensures all content is freely available to readers worldwide.
Definition of Open Access
Our Open Access Policy is guided by the principles set forth in the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). This means that all published articles are:
Freely accessible online immediately upon publication.
Published under licenses that allow users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, without financial, legal, or technical barriers, provided the original author(s) and source are properly credited.
Licensing and Copyright
We use the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which permits unrestricted reuse, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. By publishing with us, authors retain the copyright to their work, empowering them to share their research widely while ensuring proper attribution.
No Fees for Access
Our Open Access model guarantees that readers will never be charged subscription or download fees to access journal content. This allows academics, practitioners, policymakers, and the general public to engage with cutting-edge research without financial barriers.
Author Publication Fees and Funding
To maintain our Open Access model, we charge a reasonable Article Processing Charge (APC) to authors or their institutions upon acceptance of a manuscript. These charges help cover the costs of editorial processes, peer review management, and online hosting. However, we are committed to supporting authors from underrepresented or resource-limited regions. APC waivers or discounts are available on request, ensuring no author is excluded from publishing due to financial constraints.
Archiving and Long-Term Preservation
To ensure the long-term accessibility of all published articles, we are working towards employing digital preservation practices. All journal content will be archived in trusted repositories and platforms, such as arXiv, LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or institutional repositories]. This is intend to guarantee that our content remains permanently accessible, even in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
Why Open Access Matters

Increase the visibility and citation of our authors’ work.
